CMS Among Four Teams to Advance in Stag-Hen
CMS, Washington University in St. Louis, Kalamazoo, and Emory all advanced in their respective groups in the first day of play at the innaugural Stag-Hen Invitational. The Stags defeated #14 ranked Carnegie Mellon University by a score of 7-2 on Friday, by sweeping the doubles and winning at singles positions one, three, five, and six. CMS faces #8 ranked Wash U in the Stag Group final. Wash U was a 7-2 winner over #16 Bowdoin College. In the Hen Group, #2 Emory advanced to the final with a 9-0 win over Linfield College. Emory will face #13 Kalamazoo College in the Hen Group final, Kalamazoo was a 5-4 winner over #22 Pomona-Pitzer. In the Stag Group Consolation final, Carnegie Mellon will face Bowdoin, and in the Hen Group Consolation final, Linfield will face Pomona-Pitzer. First dual matches begin Saturday at 9:00 AM PST, with each team playing its final dual match of the tournament at 2:30 PM PST.
