Stags Win Second Straight SCIAC Title

The men's tennis team defeated Occidental 6-0 and Redlands 9-0 on Saturday to win the SCIAC Tournament and their second consecutive (and 15th overall) conference title. The two wins on Saturday extended the Stags' conference win streak to twenty-one, which include a win at the end of the 2005 season and two perfect 10-0 conference records in 2006 and 2007. The Stags are now 25-6 overall, with twenty-five wins equalling the highest single season total in team history. In 2007 conference play, CMS was a staggering 82-1 in individual matches. Individual highlights from the tournament include the selection of six (6) Stags to the All-Conference Teams. The four (4) First Team selections were: Lawrence Wang (SO - Orange, CA), William Ellison (SR - Shaker Heights, OH), Mikey Lim (FR - Honolulu, HI), and Eric Chow (SR - Sunnyvale, CA). The Second Team selections were Ben Hough (JR - Spokane, WA) and Guillaume Schils (SO - Shaker Heights, OH). Wang was unanimously selected as the SCIAC Player of the Year.

Next weekend the Stags play the Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament. Twelve (12) players will participate in singles and doubles, with play beginning next Friday.
