Bio
On Court: Joined the Stags as a transfer
from Colorado University where he was a member of the team...had a
distinguished junior tennis career, ranking as high as #59
nationally in the USTA Boys 18s...won six rounds at National 18s
Clays in 2001...as a junior had an impressive fall
debut with CMS, reaching the quarterfinals of the ITA West
Regionals in singles, and the semifinals of the doubles with Ben
Hough...ranked #10 in singles and #6 in doubles (with Hough) in the
West Region going into the spring...played #3 and #4 singles and
was an impressive 16-10...partnered Eric Chow and Ben Hough to earn
a combined doubles record of 20-6 at the #2 and #3 positions...his
consistent singles and doubles production helped lead the Stags to
win the NCAA West Regionals and earn their first trip to the Elite
8 in over a decade...as a senior reached the
quarterfinals of the ITA West Regionals in singles in the
fall...returned in the spring to go 12-8 in singles, primarily at
the #5 and #6 positions...teamed with Lim, Feldhausen, Chow, and
Hough for a 14-5 record in doubles...career singles record 28-18
for a .609 winning percentage...career doubles record 34-11 for a
winning percentage of .756 and 8th all-time in Stags Tennis
History...DePaolo will be remembered for his heavy topspin forehand
and kick serve, as well as the passion he brought to two very
strong Stags teams.
Personal: ITA Scholar-Athlete as a senior for earning better than a 3.5 GPA...nicknamed 'Jack Bauer' by teammates after 24 lead Kiefer Sutherland.
