Bio
On Court: An
aggressive baseliner who took the ball early and dictated
play...as a freshman played #3 and #4 singles,
finishing 16-6 overall and earning Second Team All-SCIAC
honors as well as a West Region ITA Rookie of the Year
nomination...at one point in the 2004 season had won 15 consecutive
matches...finished 3-4 in doubles, playing with Jason Evans, John
Goldis, and David Oehm...as a sophomore ranked #41
nationally going into 2005 after a 3-1 record in the Fall, where he
lost in the quarterfinals of the ITA West Regionals....in doubles,
played with Oehm and went 1-1...in the spring played #1 singles and
finished with a 16-15 record...played #3 doubles with Jason Evans
and had the fourth most successful single season doubles record in
Stags history, going 22-5...earned 1st Team All-SCIAC honors and
was the West Region ITA Player To Watch...as a
junior came into Fall 2005 with a ranking of #50
nationally and reached the semifinals of the ITA West Regionals,
losing to eventual champion Matt Seeberger from UC Santa Cruz...he
and partner Jason Evans reached the quarterfinals of the doubles at
Regionals...played at #3 and #4 singles where he had a 17-9
record...partnered DePaolo and Evans at #3 doubles to go
19-5...earned 1st Team All-SCIAC honors for second
straight year...as a senior reached the quarters
of the ITA West Regional singles, losing to teammate and eventual
champion Mike Starr...partnered Ben Hough to reach the semis of the
doubles...had a 22-7 record at #3 and #4 singles in the
spring...played at #3 doubles with Oehm and Feldhausen to go 15-6
for the season...1st Team All-SCIAC for third straight
year...career singles mark of 72-37 puts him 12th all-time in
matches won.
Personal: Majored in Cognitive &
Behavioural Neuroscience with a dual major in Chinese Language
& Literature...served in CMC’s Army Reserve
Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) as a Freshman and was a
member of the Inland Empire Ranger Challenge team... on CMS’
Student Athlete Advisory Council... avid intramural sports
competitor, participating in swimming (2-time winner of 50m
Butterfly), inner-tube water polo, flag football, dodgeball, and
table tennis events... a member of CMC’s pre-medicine
club...one-time member of “Poetry in Motion,” a student
group of aspiring breakdancers...earned ITA
Scholar-Athlete three of four years and CMS Wall of
Fame honors as a senior.
