One of Athena water polo's most accomplished athletes, Hewitson reached the pinnacle of achievement at the conference, regional, and national levels while serving as captain of two CMS teams. She is the first female water polo player to be inducted into the CMS Hall of Fame, recognizing her achievements as the premier athlete of her era who inspired and elevated the play of her teammates. Individual accolades: All-America (1996, 1997), Collegiate III MVP (1995, 1996), first-team All-Region (1996, 1997), SCIAC Player of the Year (1997), first-team All-SCIAC (1995, 1996), team captain (1996, 1997). She lettered in water polo for three years.
