Bio

Shaka made an impact the moment he stepped on the court in Claremont. As a freshman in 1977 playing No. 1 singles and doubles, Shaka finished as the SCIAC singles runner-up and then went on to win the NCAA Division III singles national championship. He and doubles partner Rich Dorman also finished as the national runner-up in doubles that year. The Stags had a great deal of success during his career with NCAA runner-up finishes in 1977 and 1980, and a third-place finish in 1978. Career accomplishments: All-America in singles (1977, 1978, 1980) and doubles (1977, 1978), All-SCIAC (1978, 1980), SCIAC doubles champion (1978, 1980), SCIAC singles champion (1980). NCAA singles finishes: first (1977), third (1978), second (1980). NCAA doubles finishes: finalist (1977), semifinalist (1978), quarterfinalist (1980).
