Football season recap

In the final game of the 2016 season, the Stags beat cross-campus rival Pomona-Pitzer 23-21. The win marked the fourth over the Sagehens for the CMS graduating class of 2017. The Stags wrapped up their second-consecutive season with a 7-2 record, and at 5-2 in SCIAC, placed second in the conference standings behind the 7-0 Redlands Bulldogs. CMS also had wins over Lewis & Clark (35-3), Washington & Lee (31-28), Whittier (45-13), Occidental (45-28), La Verne (34-23), and Chapman (17-6). This season marked the third straight winning season for the Stags. D3football.com selected junior defensive back Victor Bunce (CMC ’18) to its All-West Region First Team.
