On Court: 4-star recruit on tennisrecruiting.net, reaching as high as #59 in his recruiting class as a junior..as high as # 79 as a senior...ranked top 5 in New England in 14's,16's, and 18's, and was top 3 in 14's and 18's...did not drop a set in 14 matches of high school tennis at #1 singles as a senior at St. Luke's School...won four rounds in both 16's and 18's Kalamazoo (1 main draw, 3 back draw in 16's, 4 back draw in 18s)...reached semifinals of New England Sectionals (level 3) in June following Junior year, and reached finals of doubles...won one Level 5 singles title in New England  (made 6 other finals), and five Level 5 doubles titles...as a freshman was one of four Stags from the Class of 2017, and the only one not from California...had successful debut at USTA / ITA West Regionals, winning three of four singles matches and reaching the quarterfinals...came from behind to defeat ninth seeded Parker Wilson of Redlands in the second round before taking out sixth seed Alex Nichols of Cal Lutheran in the round of 16...finally lost to teammate Joe Dorn in the quarters,  but earned rankings of #16 in the west and #50 nationally for the fall...paired with fellow frosh Glenn Hull at ITA Regionals where they were 2-2 as a team...returned in the spring as a solid contributor, playing singles at every position except #1 and #3...won his dual match debut in singles at #4 on February 20 against eventual Ojai Independent College champion Josh Barnard of Westmont...then partnered Kotrappa for a win at #3 doubles on the same day...stayed perfect in singles and doubles dual match play throughout the spring, going 7-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles with Kotrappa and Mehall...played some of his best tennis at the Ojai D3 event, where he defeated Farmer of Whittier, and then sixth seeded Chris Wiechert of Pomona-Pitzer in second  round...completed 2014 with overall records of 12-2 in singles and 5-2 in doubles...as a sophomore went 3-2 in five singles matches at the ITA West Regional tournament...partnered sophomore Alex Brenner to win one of three matches in doubles at ITAs...returned in the spring to earn the #6 singles position behind five returning starters...won his first eight dual matches at the 4-6 singles positions, staying undefea ted until March 20...went 10-3 in the month of April, winning another seven straight duals and reaching the quarters of The Ojai...defeated Cummins of Redlands and Simonides of Pomona-Pitzer at Ojai before falling to eventual champion and teammate Wood in the QF...finished 24-7 overall in singles and 4-4 overall in doubles, and earned 2nd Team All-SCIAC honors...as a junior spent the fall semester abroad in Shanghai, China...served as left-handed practice partner to ATP World Tour pros John Isner and Novak Djokovic at ATP Masters event in Shanghai in October...returned to action with the Stags in the spring at #4 singles and #2 and #3 doubles...won his first six dual matches...had another stretch where he won eight of nine duals at #3 and #4 singles between March 17 and April 15, including a dramatic come-from-behind clincher at #3 against Amherst's Solimano on March 19....completed 2016 with a 16-8 overall singles record and 13-11 doubles record playing with Gordy, Mehall, and Seifert...earned 2nd Team All-SCIAC honors for second consecutive year...as a senior is one of three Stags with three seasons of consistent starting lineup experience...played in his first ITA West Regionals in two years after having been abroad in the fall of his junior year...entered singles as the #5 seed and won three matches to reach the quarterfinals, where he fell to #4 Chase Lipscomb of Redlands in two tight sets...joined suitemate Alex Brenner on the doubles court where the duo won one of three matches...finished the fall campaign with a singles ranking of #16 in the ITA West Region...won his first ten singles dual matches to kick off the spring...his one and only dual loss against Middlebury on April 1 in Austin, TX was later avenged in the NCAA team semifinals, as Macey clinched the deciding match in dramatic fashion...finished with a 25-1 singles dual match record, and 28-2 overall, for best winning percentage (.933) in program history for a single season...went 4-2 in dual matches (mostly with Williams) and 5-4 overall in doubles...finishes with career record of 80-19 in singles, placing him 14th in matches won and 5th in winning percentage (.808) in program history...27-21career doubles record...earned 2nd Team All-SCIAC honors for third consecutive season...will be remembered for tenacious singles play and key wins in deciding matches in some of the biggest dual matches in his era.
