CMS sends 10 athletes to NCAA Track & Field Championship

After a successful regular season, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track and field program saw 10 athletes qualify for the NCAA Championship in Geneva, Ohio. The top-20 male student-athletes of each event were accepted into the national championship as were the top-22 female student-athletes.
Stags take East Kilbride Pirates during Scotland & Ireland tour

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags beat Scottish club team the East Kilbride Pirates 73-6 during a fantastic afternoon of football, which was a great learning experience for the hosts.

For the second time in three years, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s tennis program advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament after a hard-fought 5-0 victory over No. 5 Wesleyan on Monday evening.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s tennis team got off to a rolling start in the NCAA Championship at Chattanooga, Tennessee, defeating No. 11 Washington University in St. Louis 5-1 in the quarterfinals.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association named 22 athletes from the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track and field program to 39 total All-Region honors on Monday, May 22.
Brenner helps Stags to team-low 298 in final round

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team concluded their run through the NCAA Championship tied for 12th place as the Stags played their lowest-scoring round on the final day with a 298.

The field is set for the Elite Eight of the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Team Championships. Team competition will span May 22-24 with the championship matches at 11 a.m. PDT for the men and 7 p.m. PDT for the women on Wednesday, May 24.
CMS concludes third round with 303

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team finished the third round of the 2017 NCAA Championships with a 303, climbing up one spot to be tied at 12th place on the leaderboard on Thursday afternoon.
Stags make cut and sit in 13th at NCAAs

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team made the 18-team cut at the 2017 NCAA Championships with a 310 on Wednesday’s round on the El Campeon course. CMS now sits in 13th place at +35 after the first two days of the tournament.
CMS Football heads to Ireland & Scotland with Global Football to face East Kilbride Pirates

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team travelled to Ireland and Scotland on Monday, May 15, for a nine-day cultural and educational tour that will include a game against top UK club team the East Kilbride Pirates.
Gurr and Troutman represent Athenas on All-Region Teams

During the 2017 campaign, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team was led by junior pitcher Anna Gurr (CMC) from the circle and sophomore center fielder Ande Troutman (CMC) on both sides of the ball. Both Gurr and Troutman were selected to All-Region Teams from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for their successes this season.
