End of the Year Awards for CMS

It has been another outstanding year for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics. On the largest scale, CMS broke into the top-10 in the Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup. During the 2015-16 year, many of the CMS student athletes were honored for their athletic and academic achievements.
SCIAC honors All-Academic Team for 2015-16

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was represented by 201 student-athletes on the 2015-16 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All-Academic Team. The SCIAC recognizes student-athletes who have achieved at least a cumulative 3.4 grade point average and completed one full year at their institution.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics would like to congratulate the 17 recent graduates who have been added to the CMS Wall of Fame and the 129 student-athletes who have made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2015-16 academic year.
IWLCA honors CMS for academic achievement

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team earned at least a 3.0 grade point average in the 2015-16 academic year and was honored by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as a Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad.

CMS won 11 SCIAC championships, had 13 teams participate in the NCAA Championships, finished tied for 10th in the Directors' Cup Standings and tallied four national championships (3 individual and 1 team). Take a look back at the 2015-16 year in this highlight video.
Connell and Hack on IWLCA All-West Region teams

The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) named 256 student-athletes in Division III to one of the All-Region teams for 2016 on May 13. Sophomore attacker Mikaela Connell (CMC) was named to the First Team and freshman midfielder Corie Hack (CMC) earned Second Team honors in the West Region.
Five Athenas named to All-SCIAC teams; Hack is Newcomer of the Year

Five athletes from the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team earned honors from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), highlighted by freshman Corie Hack (CMC) named as the Newcomer of the Year, as announced on May 11. Hack, sophomore Mikaela Connell (CMC) and senior Erin Larsen (CMC) were selected to the First Team while junior Cara Cancelmo (CMC) and senior Kate Anello (CMC) were named to the Second Team.
Late push seals Panthers win in SCIAC semifinal

The No. 3 Chapman Panthers were able to pull away late and earn a berth in the SCIAC Tournament championship game thanks to a 10-7 win over the No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas.

After a bye in the first round of the SCIAC Tournament, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team will face Chapman in a semifinal on Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. on Zinda Field.
Determined Athenas secure No. 2 seed for SCIAC Championships

Just a couple of weeks ago, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team narrowly defeated Occidental on the road, 11-10. On April 23, in the regular season finale before the SCIAC Championships, CMS took control from the outset en route to a 14-7 win over Occidental at Zinda Field.
