Athenas Announce 2009 Summer Camp

The CMS Athenas Softball coaching staff are pleased to announce the dates for their 2nd annual Athena Softball Skills Camp. The clinic will run from Monday, June 15th – Thursday, June 18th for campers aged 11-14.
Softball Headed To NCAA's After SCIAC Tournament

In an historical program first, the CMS Softball program has qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championship tournament. The first round of the tournament begins on Thursday, May 7 at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.
Softball Qualifies For NCAA Tournament

After a school record 28 regular season wins, the softball team was selected for the 59-team NCAA Championship field for the first time in program history on Monday. CMS (28-14) will open the double-elimination regional against host East Texas Baptist University (37-7) at 2:00 on Thursday, May 7.

Athenas Sweep Regals, Head To Texas

CMS won at Cal Lutheran on Saturday 9-3 and 2-0 to improve to 12-3 overall and 6-2 in SCIAC. The team will head to Texas for spring break for a pair of doubleheaders.
Athenas Continue Strong Play Against Leopards

The 17th ranked CMS Athenas lost a late lead and game one 7-6 at La Verne on Saturday, but bounced back to win game two 5-2. CMS improved to 7-2 overall and remain tied for first place in SCIAC with a 4-2 record.

In an historic day, the CMS Athenas swept ninth-ranked Chapman University for only the second time and the first since 1999. That year, the Athenas went on to earn a SCIAC title and the squad hopes this past weekend’s sweep bodes equally well for the 2009 season.

The cancellation of the Athenas 2009 season openening series at Occidental College sets up a Valentine's Day opener against cross-campus rival, Pomona-Pitzer. Game times are 12:00 and 2:00 pm at the Pomona College field.
