Brown and Tan wrap up season in second at NCAAs

May 28, 2017

Lindsay Brown (CMC '18) and Nicole Tan (CMC '20) continued the tradition of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's doubles teams competing for a national title on Saturday afternoon. The pair won their semifinal game against Emory earlier in the day and then ended the season as the National Runner-Up team with the loss to Wesleyan in the final.

Three CMS all-time records broken on final day of NCAA

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Track & Field Team bid farewell to Ohio after completing the final day of the NCAA Track & Field Championships. Despite not taking first place in their events, the Stags and Athenas hold their heads high after all the hard work they put in this season and for making it this far.

Parodi finishes as National Runner-Up in singles title match

Nikolai Parodi (CMC '20) wrapped up his freshman season as the National Runner-up in the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis singles final. In a rematch from earlier in the week, Parodi fell to Lubomir Cuba of Middlebury College 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

Tan and Brown to compete in NCAA doubles semi

May 26, 2017

In the second day of the individual competition at the NCAA Tennis Championships, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s tennis team competed in quarterfinals in both doubles and singles play. The doubles team of Nicole Tan (CMC ’20) and Lindsay Brown (CMC ’18) won a straight set match to advance into the semifinals tomorrow morning.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Track & Field program saw three athletes advance to the final round of their events at the 2017 NCAA Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon.

Parodi and Morkovine advance to singles quarterfinals at NCAAs

May 25, 2017

Nikolai Parodi (CMC ’20) and Daniel Morkovine (CMC’ 17) advanced into the quarterfinals of the NCAA Individuals competition with first and second round wins while Glenn Hull (CMC ’17) faced a stout opponent ending his run in the first round.

First round wins for all Athenas in individual draws

Both doubles teams representing the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals in the NCAA Individuals competition. Additionally, Catherine Allen (SC ’20) and Nicole Tan (CMC ’20) each won their first round singles matches with Allen continuing into the quarterfinals.

The pouring rain and winds set the stage for several unpredictable results at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Track & Field program saw six of its athletes compete on the first day.

Stags fall to Emory in National Championship Match

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s tennis team came up against fierce competition in Emory University in the NCAA Men’s Tennis National Championship match. The Stags went down 3-0 in doubles competition and were unable to recover in singles play, ultimately falling 5-2.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named Joshua Sealand (HMC ’17) and Vaiva Palunas (SC ’17) to the 2017 Athlete of the Year on Tuesday, an award given to the best track and field athletes of each region.

Comeback over Midd sends Stags to NCAA title match

For the fourth time this year, the No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s tennis team came back from a 3-0 deficit after doubles play for a spectacular team win. This time, the Stags topped No. 1 Middlebury 5-4 to advance to the National Championship match

Experienced Emory sees end to Athenas' NCAA run

Despite delivering a hard-fought battle, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s tennis team saw its NCAA Tournament run end at the Final Four after a 5-1 defeat to No. 3 Emory.
