After having been abroad in Copenhagen last semester, Scripps senior and Colorado native Jen Lehr is “SIMPLY JAZZED” about the prospect of getting back into the swing of collegiate running. “Traveling all over Europe for a semester was neat and all, but I surely did miss keeping up with some of my favorite Claremont pastimes,” she says. Foremost on the list? Sneaking up on Rachel Mow and licking her elbows, of course. “It’s a really thrilling part of both of our days,” she elaborates.
When people ask Jen what she thinks about on runs, she often tells them that she recites her phone number over and over in her head. This isn’t necessarily true, but she feels it contributes to maintaining an aura of mystique surrounding The Distance Runner.
Jen has been described by those who know her well as “plain and ladylike.”
