Throwers open season at Sialaris Memorial

The CMS throwers opened their season on Saturday, February 8 at the Alyssa Sialaris Memorial Throws Meet at Whittier.  CMS won two of the six events they participated in.  Alex Rich won the men's hammer with a personal best of 46.33m (152-0) and Nicole Laliberte won the women's discus with a personal best of 32.85m (107-9).  Rich also had the best throw for CMS in discus with a throw of 36.99m (121-4).  Laliberte led the CMS women in the hammer at 31.79m (104-3).  The top marks in the shot put were turned in by Vaiva Palunas (9.33m [30-7.5]) and Sam Perrella (12.14m [39-10]).

The throwers will compete again this weekend as they join the rest of the track & field team at the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers meet on February 15.
