Four Stags named to ITA All-American Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association named four members of the No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Men's Tennis team to the All-American team on June 8 after the conclusion of the NCAA National Championships. The All-Americans were selected based on the individuals' final rankings, NCAA Tournament seeding, ITA Regionals results, or whether the individual won his first round match in the tournament. Nikolai Parodi (CMC '20), Glenn Hull (CMC '17), and Daniel Morkovine (CMC '17) earned a spot on the All-American singles team while Parodi/Hull and Morkovine/ Julian Gordy (CMC '19) were listed in the All-American doubles team.

Parodi finished as the national runner-up for singles in the NCAA Tournament and was listed second in the national rankings. Hull ended the season ranked 11th in the nation in singles after a solid regular season, including a third place finish in the Oracle Cup. Parodi and Hull paired together at the ITA West Regional, and finished as runner-ups to winners Morkovine and Gordy. Hull was named All-American in singles back in the 2013-14 season, finishing his CMS career with three All-American honors.

Morkovine concluded the season ranked 22nd in the nation in singles after finishing in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. After receiving his first All-American honors last season for doubles, Morkovine leaves CMS with three All-Americans under his belt. Having won the ITA West Regional alongside Morkovine, Gordy earned his first All-American nod in his career.
