Men’s soccer hosts Chapman Wednesday in SCIAC Tournament semifinal

CLAREMONT, Calif. – As the top seed in the SCIAC Men's Soccer Postseason Tournament, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's soccer team hosts No. 4 seed Chapman University on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Pritzlaff Field in a semifinal matchup at 7 p.m.

The winner of Wednesday's game between CMS and Chapman faces either No. 2 seed Whittier (11-7-1, 10-5-1 SCIAC) or No. 3 seed Cal Lutheran (11-6-2, 9-5-2 SCIAC). The highest remaining seed hosts the SCIAC Postseason Tournament final on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.

CMS and Chapman (11-7-2, 9-6-1 SCIAC) met twice during the regular season with CMS taking both matches. CMS won at home 3-2 (2OT) on Sept. 18 and won at Chapman 3-0 on Oct. 12. CMS is led by sophomore F Hogan Marhoefer who has 11 goals on the season while senior Nick Echeverry leads the Chapman attack with 13 goals and three assists.

Admission is $5 for all guests 12 years and up. Students, faculty and staff of the participating schools are free with school identification. Video and live stats for CMS' home matches including the SCIAC Postseason Tournament can be found here.
