Bio
Schmitz serves as the faculty mentor to the CMS women's and men's cross country programs. He is an associate Professor of Biology in the W. M. Keck Science Department of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges.
In his role as faculty mentor Schmitz works to improve the academic and personal outcomes for student-athletes and the team's integration in and support of the academic mission of the CMS community.
