Athenas See Three in Top-10, Winning Coyote Challenge

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's cross country team conquered the trails at Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday morning, taking first place for the first time in program history at the Coyote Challenge. Competing against a handful of Division II and NAIA programs, the Athenas triumphed over their opponents, leading at 34 points and scoring 14 points fewer than second-plan Cal State San Bernardino. The Athenas saw three runners take the top-10 spot on the 5K course and six in the top-20.

Bryn McKillop (SC) took first overall for the third time this season, clocking in at 17:19.6. First year Abigale Johnson (SC) took fifth overall at 18:03.1 and Roselyn Cantu (CMC) finished 10th at 18:22.7. 

Kyleigh Mann (CMC) recorded her first top-15 finish of the season, taking 12th at 18:29.0. First year Olivia Gleason (SC) also had her highest finish of the season, coming in 17th at 18:47.3. Coming in 20th, Matilda Msall (SC) crossed the finish line at 18:51.0.

The Athenas will run again at the SCIAC Dual Meet on Friday, September 29 in La Mirada at 4:45 p.m.
