Athenas Hustle to First-Place Finish at Biola

FULLERTON, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's cross country team headed to Craig Regional Park on Saturday morning to race in the Biola Invitational. After grinding through a series of slopes and muddy grounds, the Athenas cruised to a comfortable victory over the 11 teams in attendance, taking first overall with a score of 32 points and finishing 18 points over second-place Biola.

CMS finished with four of the seven fastest times including a first-place finish from Bryn McKillop (SC) in 17:48.61. McKillop was over seven seconds faster than the second place finisher in the race. First year Abigale Johnson (SC) dazzled in her Biola Invitational debut, taking fourth overall with a time of 18:06.61 while first-time cross country runner Ellen Berkley (CMC) finished right behind her at 18:08.19. At seventh place, Malea Martin (CMC) clocked in at 18:15.70 and first year Delaney Hartmann (SC) crossed the line in 15th at 18:44.74. 

First year Dulcie Jones (SC) took 17th place at 18:51.05 while Roselyn Cantu (CMC) followed right behind her at 18:51.71. 

The Athenas will head over to Riverside to compete at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, September 16 at 7:30 a.m.
