Christina Kulick Earns Second SCIAC Player of the Week for CMS Women's Water Polo

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Christina Kulick of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's water polo team was named the SCIAC Women's Water Polo Offensive Player of the Week for games through Sunday, March 20, the league office announced today.

Kulick earned the honor of the second time this season after previously capturing it on March 1. It is the fourth time this season that an Athena has been honored by the SCIAC, as Mia Adsen also took the Offensive Player of the Week honor on Feb. 21, while Dara Schoolcraft won the Defensive Player of the Week on Jan. 31.

This week, Kulick captured the honor after she had a combined five goals and one assist as CMS picked up a pair of one-goal SCIAC wins to move to 5-1 in league play. In a key 8-7 win over Whittier in a battle for second place, she had the tying goal with 1:51 left before the Athenas went ahead with the game-winner on their next possession. She added three goals in a road win over La Verne on Saturday, which the Athenas won 9-8.

CMS will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Chapman, before returning home on Saturday to face Redlands and CSU Northridge in a pair of home games at Axelrood Pool.
