Athena Polo Dominates Connecticut College

After finishing a rough weekend at the Cal Baptist Invite in which the team went 2-3, the Athenas rebounded with a strong performance against Division 3 foe Connecticut College.  The Athenas netted the first goal of the game only 35 seconds after the start and never looked back from there.  The Athenas were able to build a 6-2 halftime lead with both Haley Conner (Fr.) and Alex Toohey (So.) netting 3 goals apiece in the half.  The third quarter was more of the same as the Athenas stretched their lead with goals from Candace Filippelli (So.) and Lilly Reid (Sr.) as well as 2 more goals added by Toohey.  With a 10-3 run in the second half the Athenas finished the game in complete control winning the contest 16-5.  The Athenas were lead by Alex Toohey who finished the game with 5 goals, Candace Filippelli and Haley Conner both finished with 4 goals, and Rose Koper (So.), Jeanne Kelber (Jr.) and Lilly Reid all finished with one goal.  Spitting time in the cage were Allison Hu (Fr.) and Heather Williams (Sr.)  who had 4 and 3 saves respectfully.
