Meredith Bloss earned indoor all-region honors for the second straight season

Seven Athenas Capture All-West Region Honors for Indoor Season

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Seven members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's track and field team earned All-West Region honors for indoor season from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced today.

Brooke Simon, who will be attending the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships this weekend, earned it for the second year in a row, while Caroline DelVecchio, an All-American during outdoor season last year, captured all-region in three events, the 60-meter hurdles, the pentathlon and the 4x400 relay. 

Joining DelVecchio on the 4x400 relay all-region team were Shriya Velichala, Alyssa Ruiz and Jada Higgins, with Velichala also earning all-region accolades as an individual in the 400 meters. Meredith Bloss, an All-American during indoor season last year, was an honoree in the 5000 meters, while Laura Zimmer captured it in the mile. 

Simon will next be in action at indoor nationals, while many members of the Athenas will return to action this weekend at the Occidental Distance and Sprint Carnival.
