Both Track and Field Programs Earn Academic Team and Individual Awards

A total of 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track & field team members were USTFCCCA All-Academic Individuals for the 2018 season. Thomas D'Anieri (CMC '20), Evan Hassman (HMC '21) and Alex McDonald (CMC '21) were the Stags selected. Tyra Abraham (SC '18), Emily Bassett (CMC '18), Ellen Berkley (CMC '18), Sabrine Griffith (CMC '19), Nirel JonesMitchell (CMC '21), Amanda Mell (CMC '20), and Grace Pratt (CMC '21) were the All-Academic selections for the Athenas.

In addition to the individual awards, both the Athenas and Stags were All-Academic Teams in 2018 with cumulative GPAs of 3.47 and 3.33, respectively.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:

  • Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
