CMS Women's Tennis Receives Three Singles, One Doubles Invitation to NCAA Championships

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Alisha Chulani, Lindsay Eisenman and Audrey Yoon of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team earned invitations to the NCAA Division III Singles Championship, while Chulani and Nikolina Batoshvili were selected for the doubles championship, the NCAA announced on Wednesday evening.

Chulani and Yoon will be making their second straight appearance in the NCAA singles championship, after both earned All-America honors a year ago by advancing. Chulani reached the quarterfinals, before falling to eventual champion Angie Zhou of Pomona-Pitzer.

Chulani and Batoshvili, meanwhile, will be competing in doubles for the third time, including as the top seed in 2022, when they reached the quarterfinals. They are currently the No. 2 ranked doubles team in the nation.

Eisenman will be making her first appearance in the NCAA Championships, but earned significant national experience in the fall, when she made it all the way to the finals of the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia, before falling to Sylwia Mikos of Chicago to end as runner-up. Eisenman has already clinched All-America honors for this year in singles, after defeating Yoon in a close three-setter for the ITA West Regional Championship.

Individuals will take place beginning on May 25 in St. Louis, Missouri, after the conclusion of the team championships from May 20-23. CMS will be trying to win its third straight national championship in this year's tournament, and will hope to advance to nationals after competing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this weekend at a regional hosted by Carnegie Mellon.
