Sena Selby Earns SCIAC Athlete of the Week Accolades for CMS Women's Tennis

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Sena Selby of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team earned the SCIAC Athlete of the Week honor for matches through Sunday, March 5, the conference office announced today.

Selby was 5-1 in six matches to help CMS reach the finals of the ITA Indoor Championships. She won in both singles and doubles in a quarterfinal victory over Case Western on Friday, and did the same in a semifinal win over MIT on Saturday. She teamed with Katherine Wurster for their third doubles win of the weekend, a comeback 8-7 win victory against Chicago in the finals to prevent CMS from falling in a 3-0 hole, before the Maroons earned the 5-1 win.

Selby becomes the second Athena to win the honor this season after Alisha Chulani captured it last week, and the seventh different CMS player to win it over the last two years.

CMS will be back in action on Saturday for a match against Swarthmore at the Claremont Club, and one against Christopher Newport at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
