Chloe Dobbert Wins Independent College Singles Tournament At Ojai

OJAI, Calif - Down after the first set, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps junior women's tennis player Chloe Dobbert came back and defeated U.C. Santa Cruz's Ariana Mokhtari 0-6, 6-2, 6-4 on Sunday morning to win the Women's Independent College Singles division of the 113th Annual Ojai Valley Tournament.

Over the four-day tournament, Dobbert won five matches. She began the weekend with wins over Adrienne Hamada (3-6, 6-3, 6-0) of Whittier and Jamie Solomon (6-2, 6-1) of Pomona-Pitzer on Thursday. On Friday, Dobbert defeated Meagan Zamilpa (6-2, 7-5) of Whittier and then on Saturday topped Mae Coyiuto (6-3, 3-6, 6-2) of Pomona-Pitzer. 

Dobbert also participated in the Women's Independent College Doubles Tournament with freshman Yvonne Likomanova but lost their first match in the round of 16 7-6 (8), 6-3 to Andrea Hammer and Kelley Klebenow of Chapman.

Dobbert and Likomanova now have  a few days off along with the rest of the team in preperation for the SCIAC Championships which run May 3-4.
