CMS Women's Swimming and Diving Jumps to No. 11 in Latest Coaches Poll

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team moved up seven spots to No. 11 in the latest Division III poll released by the Collegiate Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, the organization announced today.

The Athenas are coming off a weekend in which they won 14 of the 16 events in a dual win over Occidental, as they moved to 1-1 on the season (with the loss to Division I UC San Diego). All-American Augusta Lewis led the way with three individual wins, taking the 200 fly, 200 breast and 200 IM, while moving into seventh place in CMS history in the 200 fly.

Emma Ng Pack also had two wins by sweeping the one-meter and three-meter dives, earning her the SCIAC Diver of the Week honor for the second time in two weeks of competition. Katelyn Dang, Sammy Ennis and Kelly Prawira added wins in their first career SCIAC meets, while returners Ava Sealander, Jameson Mitchum, Gracey Hiebert and Ella Blake earned individual wins as well.

Prawira won the 100 breast against Occidental, after also earning first place in the 200 breast in the meet with Division I UC San Diego, giving her a win in each of her first two collegiate meets. CMS also won both relay events, taking first in the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay.

Kenyon, Emory and Denison still hold down the same 1-2-3 positions that they had in the preseason poll, while Johns Hopkins moved up from No. 7 to No. 4. Pomona-Pitzer is also in from the SCIAC at No. 8, moving up from No. 13.

CMS will be back in action this weekend for a tri-meet at Chapman, which will also include Caltech. The Athenas will next be at home for a two-day meet on Dec. 3-4, taking on Pomona-Pitzer in a Sixth Street Rivalry matchup.
