Stags and Athenas Fare Well At Pentathlon

The CMS Swimming teams fared well at the annual Bulldog Pentathlon, contested at the University of Redlands on Saturday, November 13, 2010.  At the meet, each swimmer competed in the 100 yard butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle and 100 individual medley.

No team scores were kept, but several CMS swimmers shined throughout the day.  The Athenas placed three swimmers in the overall top 5, with Michele Kee placing first, Helen Liu third and Emma Jones fifth.    The Stags' top finishers were Vincent Pai (4th) and Jordan Lieberman (6th).

In addition to winning the overall women's title, Kee placed first in the 100 butterfly (59.18), 100 freestyle (54.61) and 100 IM (1:01.14).  For the Stags, Blake Weber earned second place in the 100 backstroke (56.03), Vincent Pai was runner-up in the 100 breast (59.73) and Jeff McNerney took the silver in the 100 free (48.78).

The CMS divers will compete in the Redlands Diving Invite this Saturday at 10:00.  The swimmers will compete again after Thanksgiving Break, facing conference opponent Cal Tech at the CMS Axelrood Pool on Friday, December 3 at 3:30 p.m.
