Women’s soccer tied for third in SCIAC Preseason Poll
PASADENA, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) released its 2016 preseason women's soccer coaches poll and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is tied for third in the rankings. The Athenas finished second in 2015 with a 7-4-3 SCIAC record and secured a spot in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.
CMS received a total of 23 points in the preseason poll as did Cal Lutheran. Pomona-Pitzer (17 points) and Redlands (22 points) were predicted by the coaches to be the top two teams in the standings.
In addition to the preseason polls, CMS head coach Keri Sanchez was interviewed by Hero Sports for its women's soccer preview.
The Athenas play their first match at home on Sept. 1 against Carthage. Conference play begins on Sept. 14 against Pomona-Pitzer, also at home.
