CMS Alums Come Up Big

The current Athena women's soccer team took on some of their alumni this past Sunday afternoon.  The weather was warm, but both teams enjoyed the game.  The alumni were represented by some great former players: CMC alums- Erin McClendon ('05), Michele Daley ('06),  Katy Femia ('06), Rebecca Pedroza ('09), Brittney Watson ('09), Sarah (Blavet) Frey ('09), Erin Chamberlain ('09), Kelsey Rose ('10), Nicole Sady-Kennedy ('10), Stefanie Chan ('11), Meredith Doyle ('11), Gizelle Pera ('11), and Julia Nishioka ('12); Scripps Alum- Megan Kum ('08); HMC Alum- Allison Hutchings ('07).

The Alums had much of the run of play as the current players were coming off a tough OT loss from Saturday and coach made them run some fitness prior to playing.  However, both teams had quality chances with alum keeper Femia coming up with a couple big saves to help out the alums.    In the end, the Alumni won 3-1.  Overall, a great day to celebrate CMS Women's Soccer.  We hope to have an even bigger celebration next fall to celebrate the 25th anniversary of back to back SCIAC championships ('87, '88) and our first 4 year letter winners.
