Cate Lewison Earns SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week for CMS Women's Lacrosse

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Cate Lewison of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team captured the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week for games through Sunday, March 10, the conference office announced today.

Lewison had seven goals in two games as the Athenas rolled to convincing wins over both RPI and Occidental. She actually averaged a goal per quarter, as she scored three goals in a 16-6 win over RPI that was shortened to three quarters due to lightning delay, and then had four goals in a win at Occidental.

Lewison had her seven goals on only 11 shots, while adding five ground balls and three draw controls in the RPI win as well. She had three goals in the first quarter alone at Occidental to help stake CMS to an 8-1 lead.

Last year, Lewison earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor from the SCIAC, after causing four turnovers and picking up seven ground balls in a win over Chapman. The Athenas will play their next game at home against Chapman, which will be on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m.
