Women’s lacrosse puts four on All-SCIAC teams

PASADENA, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team landed four players on the All-SCIAC team, the conference announced May 8. The Athenas placed one on the first team and three players on the second team.

Freshman midfielder Zoe Pinczower earned first team All-SCIAC honors after starting all 18 matches for the Athenas and scoring 24 goals which ranked third on the team. Selected to the second team are junior attacker Hilary Slauson, freshman midfielder Cara Cancelmo and sophomore defender Alex Savino. Slauson started 16 of 18 matches and scored 20 goals to go along with six assists, while Camcelmo finished fourth on the team with 22 goals in her first season. Savino started 17 of 18 matches for the Athenas on the back line.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was established in 1915. The league is currently comprised of nine private colleges and universities in Southern California: California Institute of Technology, California Lutheran University, Chapman University, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, University of La Verne, Occidental College, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, University of Redlands, and Whittier College. The conference recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly and annual basis.
