Bannon Recognized By Synapse Sports

Freshmen starter Maddie Bannon was placed on the Honor Roll by Synapse Sports for the week of May 2.  Synapse Sports honors a defensive, offensive, and rookie of the week throughout the season that stands out from all the rest.  Her great efforts over the past weekend helped CMS defend their SCIAC championship.

Bannon tallied three goals in championship play.  She also gained an impressive 11 draw controls in the two tournament games.  Bannon has started for the Athenas in all 17 games.  She leads the team in draw controls with 79 possessions.  Not only is she the team leader, she is ranked 13th out of 300 in the nation for draw controls.

Bannon and the rest of the Athenas await a potential at-large bid for the 2011 NCAA tournament.  Bids will be announced May 8.
