Lacrosse Off To Another Great Start

For the second straight season, the women's lacrosse team has started the season undefeated.  Last year's team started 15-0 before losing their season finale against Colorado College.  This year's team is 5-0 including a close win over Colorado in the team's second game [pictured].

The Athenas opened the season with a 14-1 home win over Whittier.  They then traveled to Texas where they beat Colorado 13-12 and host University of Dallas 20-1.  This past week they beat Ursinus College 11-9 and Denison University 9-6 in two home games.

CMS will go back on the road for three games in Florida during spring break.  They face Amherst College on March 17, Brockport State on March 20 and Smith College on March 21.  All three games will be played at Lake Lytal Park in West Palm Beach.

After five games, the goal scoring leader for CMS is Callae Snively (SR, Englewood, CO) with eight.  Devon Scott (SO, Portland, OR) and Courtney Cronin (JR, Madison, CT) have seven goals each.  Lindsay Gaesser (SR, Charlottesville, VA) leads the team in assists with 14.  All three goalies have seen significant playing time.  Katya Strohl (SR, Oak Park, IL) has started four games and leads the team with 15 saves.  Jessica Cathcart (FR, Davis) has 12 saves and Katie Campbell-Morrison (FR, Cleveland, OH) has six.
