Bio

Jennie Rintala begins her second season as an assistant coach with the CMS Women’s Basketball program in 2016-17.  Rintala is coming off a professional career overseas. Her most recent team was a First Division team in Germany, Rhein-Main baskets. Her season ended early due to an ACL injury.

Rintala started her professional career in Australia playing the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Leading the Kalamunda Eastern Suns to the Grand Final first time in club history (2013). Rintala was named teams MVP while leading the league in the top 5 for scoring, rebounding, blocks and free throws made.

While playing abroad, Rintala ran numerous camps, clinics and individual training sessions in both Australia and Germany.

Before her professional career, Rintala (formally known as Sunnarborg) played four years at South Dakota State University (2008-2012). She was named First Team All conference and Summit League Tournament MVP 2012. She is a part of the Jackrabbit 1,000 point club and is 2nd in school history for blocks. Rintala also excelled in the classroom as she was on the Summit League Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence 2008-2012.

Rintala graduated from SDSU in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education and Human Sciences and minors in Sociology and Leadership and Management of Non-Profit Organizations.
