Jacey Carter Earns SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors after 2-0 Week

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior guard Jacey Carter was named the SCIAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for games through Sunday, Jan. 29, the league office announced today.

Carter came up huge in a comeback win over Cal Lutheran on Wednesday, shooting 6-7 from three-point territory in the second half. Her six threes included two clutch ones in the final two minutes of regulation to help force the game into overtime, the first to cut a 5-point lead down to two, and the second to tie the game with 11.1 seconds left. She finished the game with 20 points, passing her previous career-high of 18 set against Pomona-Pitzer

Carter then added four more three-pointers in her Senior Day win over Caltech, helping CMS to a dominant 82-53 win. She finished with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists, and finished the week shooting 10-16 from beyond the arc. 

CMS will be back in action on Wednesday night with a big game against SCIAC-leading La Verne at 7 p.m.
