Bio

Coach Betsy Hipple is serving as the interim head coach for the CMS softball program for the 2023-24 season, after she spent 12 seasons as the head coach of CMS from 2006-2017. In her fourth season, she led the Athenas to the NCAA Championships for the first time in 2009, which was the first of six straight NCAA appearances during her tenure, including a regional title and super regionals appearance in 2014. 

Hipple came to CMS from Hunter College, City University of New York, where she coached for five seasons, leading the team to three CUNYAC titles ('02, '03, '05), three CUNYAC tournament titles ('01, '02, '03) and into the NCAA Championships three times ('01, '02, '03). She was named CUNYAC Coach of the Year three times ('01, '02, '03). 

A native of Gainesville, Florida, Hipple started her coaching career with a 12U basketball team in a local church league.
