Lopez Named SCIAC Athlete Of The Week

Emily Lopez was selected SCIAC Athlete of the Week for the week of March 21-27.  The junior shortstop batted .538 with eight RBI's to lead the Athenas to away and home doubleheader sweeps of Redlands which moved CMS past the Bulldogs into first place in the SCIAC standings. She was 7-13 with two doubles and two home runs (1.154 slugging %) and scored five runs. She was also flawless in the field with four putouts and 17 assists. She had the game-winning RBI in two of the games and had hits and RBI in all four. On the season she is batting .358 with 5 home runs and 24 RBI. CMS is 23-6 overall and 10-3 in SCIAC.
