Adam Sage Opens 2023 Season with SCIAC Athlete of the Week Honors

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Adam Sage of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's cross country team earned the SCIAC Athlete of the Week for events through Sunday, Sept. 3, the conference office announced today.

Sage came in fourth place out of over 100 runners, many running for Division I schools, as CMS took third place at the Mark Covert Classic, hosted by CSU Fullerton. Sage was behind only three runners from Division I California Baptist, as he finished in 24:32.1 to begin the year with a top-five finish.

It marks the second time in his career that Sage has been honored by the SCIAC. Last season, he earned the award on Oct. 3, following his performance at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.

CMS will be back in action on Sept. 16 when it travels to compete at the UC Riverside Invitational.
