Adam Sage Earns SCIAC Athlete of the Week Award for Stags Track and Field

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Adam Sage earned the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week Award for meets through Sunday, March 24, the conference office announced today.

Sage earned the award after setting a new CMS record in the 10000 meters at the UCLA Distance Carnival, becoming the first Stag to break 30 minutes in 29:53.90. He broke the old program record by 24 seconds, and ran the fastest Division III time this year by 26 seconds.

Sage was also second in the race at UCLA, but first among collegiate competitors, finishing behind only a runner from the Hoka Running Club. He was over 20 seconds ahead of the third-place finisher, from Division I Pepperdine.

Sage becomes the program's fifth honoree this season, joining Ellis DelVecchio as Track Athletes of the Week, while Sarath Kakani (twice) and Kaden Cassidy earned the Field Athlete of the Week.

CMS will be back in action this weekend when it hosts the second SCIAC Multi-Dual at the Burns Track Complex, beginning at 10 a.m.
