Nick Teresi Takes SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week Honor for Stags

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Nick Teresi of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team earned the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week honor for events through Sunday, April 16, the league office announced today.

Teresi was part of two record-setting performances at the annual Mt. SAC Relays, helping the CMS 4x400 team break the SCIAC record with a 3:10.56, which is the fastest time in DIII this year, matching Christian Campbell for the fastest split with a 47.1. He was also part of a 4x100 team that broke the CMS record with a 41:05.

After competing at Mt. SAC, Teresi then won both the 200 and the 400 at the final SCIAC Multi-Dual on Saturday, setting PRs in both, running the 200 in 21.64 to win by .06 and running the 400 in 48.62 to win by .43. He also contributed to a 4x100 relay win as the Stags went 3-0 with three dominant wins.

Teresi becomes the fourth different Stag to win the Track Athlete of the Week honor, joining Campbell (twice), Miles Christensen and Joshua Martinez, while Sarath Kakani and Truman Knowles have also captured the Field Athlete of the Week award.

CMS will be back in action in two weeks for the SCIAC Championships on April 29-30 at La Verne.
