On Court: Played on varsity team all four years in high school, helping captain the team to a CIF championship in 2009 while playing number one doubles...named Most Valuable Player in Marmonte League and placed on the Ventura All-County Team in 2008...ranked as high as #50 in the Boys 18 Division in USTA Southern California section...as a freshman...reached the singles quarterfinals (losing to teammate Mikey Lim) at the ITA West Regionals to finish the fall season ranked #25 in the west...went on to have the best single season winning percentage in Stags Tennis history, going undefeated in sixteen (16) spring dual matches, with only one loss in the quarterfinals of the Ojai Valley Tournament...played primarily at #5 and #6 singles, but also played three matches at #3 and one at #1...lost only two total sets in spring dual match play...had wins against regional ranked players Andrew Giuffrida (#2 from Cal Lutheran) and Kyle Anderson (#25 from Linfield), both at the Ojai Valley Tournament...did not lose a set in five matches at #5 singles during NCAA team championships...finished the season ranked #23 in the west in singles, with a staggering 21-2 overall record...earned an ITA West Region Rookie of the Year nomination for his performance...went 2-3 in doubles, playing with Wong, Crandall, and Cahill...as a sophomore picked up right where he left off from year one, advancing to the singles final of the ITA West Regionals as the 11th seeded player...defeated 2nd seed Giuffrida of Cal Lutheran in the Round of 16, teammate Ron Wu in the quarters, and then 7th seed Koenig of UC Santa Cruz in the semis, before falling to 5th seed Ballou of Cal Lutheran in the final...his 5-1 record at the tournament earned him a fall national singles ranking of #13 and a west region singles ranking of #3...partnered Ellis for one match at the ITA West Regionals, where the pair lost to top seeds Ballou and Giuffrida of Cal Lutheran in the first round...began spring season for the Stags at #2 singles and #3 doubles (with Brockett)...won first four singles dual matches before losing first of his career at UCSD on March 3, breaking a consecutive dual match win streak of 19...moved to the #3 singles spot with teammate Robbie Erani's return to the lineup in early April...again finished the season very strong, winning 10 of his last 11 matches and staying unbeaten in NCAA team play...will be remembered for his incredible win at Santa Cruz to clinch the West Regional, saving six match points from 1-5 down in the third set...earned 1st Team All-SCIAC honors for his unbeaten record against conference opponents...ended 2011 with a 23-9 singles record and a national ranking of #31 and #10 in the west...went 2-2 in doubles, playing with Ellis, Brockett, and Cahill...as a junior entered the USTA / ITA West Regionals as the 6th seed and proceeded to advance all the way to the final, with wins over 2nd seeded Meyer of Pomona-Pitzer and 5th seeded teammate Warren Wood in three sets in the semis...lost to teammate and top seed Alex Lane in the final, but became the first Stag ever to reach consecutive West Regional singles finals...earned a #12 national and #4 west region singles ranking for the fall...got off to a slower start than usual in the spring, playing at the #2 and #3 singles spots for the first six weeks of the season...hit his stride in April, winning nine of eleven matches and reaching the quarters of the Ojai...finishing the year at #5 singles, he was undefeated in May, with two wins at SCIACs, a win at NCAAs, and two other unfinished matches at NCAAs...won more than twenty singles matches for the third straight year with a 21-12 mark...went 1-0 in doubles playing with Chien.
