Bio
On Court: Jason
had an impressive junior tennis career in Southern California,
ranking in the top 50 in singles, and top 10 in doubles in his
final year of Boys 18s... as a freshman played
sparingly at #5-6 singles and #2-3 doubles (with Aaron Fuhriman),
going 2-0 in SCIAC play in both...as a sophomore
posted a 3-0 singles record, pushing his career singles dual match
record as a Stag to a perfect 5-0, without the loss of a
set...played the Ojai Valley tournament, losing to Cal Lutheran's
Quinn Calderon in the second round...made great contributions at
positions #7 - #9, with only one loss in dual matches all
season...in doubles, paired with Michael Kayatta and Eric Chow at
#2 and #3 to post a 4-1 record...played the Ojai tournament with
David Oehm...as a junior spent the Fall in
Brisbane, Australia...came back to start the Spring season at #4
singles and #3 doubles with Eric Chow...went 7-10 in singles,
ultimately playing at every position except #1...with Chow,
finished with the fourth best single season winning percentage
(.815) in Stags tennis history, going 22-5 at #3
doubles...as a senior was 4-3 in singles, playing
mostly at #5 and #6...in doubles, partnered Chow, Chidester,
Sabater, and Hough to post a 9-2 record...completed his Stags
Tennis doubles career with a 40-12 record for a .769 winning
percentage, good for 7th best all-time...finished with a 57-29
career combined singles and doubles record and .663 winning
percentage...played a key role in the Stags three SCIAC
Championships in 2003, 2004, and 2006.
Personal: Played Father-Son tournament tennis with dad Rick, winning the SoCal Sectionals as a senior at CMC and reaching the quarters at the USTA National Hardcourts and Grasscourts after graduation...ITA Scholar-Athlete for attaining 3.5 GPA or better his junior and senior years at CMC...won best senior thesis in Philosophy at CMC...nicknamed 'J-Fro' by teammates...became Stags Assistant Coach in 2007, one year after graduation...attended law school at Washington University in St. Louis and helped coach Wash U to an NCAA team title in 2008.
