The CMS-ence of Jackson Crewe

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior Jackson Crewe (HMC '19) heads into his final SCIAC Swimming and Diving Championships this coming week in Commerce, California, looking to bring back the league championship which the Stags last won his sophomore year in 2016-17.

That year, Crewe also represented the CMS program at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, and he's itching to be part of that contingent this year as well. But first, he is laser-focused on the SCIACs and another battle with cross-street rivals Pomona-Pitzer.

"Oh goodness, it would mean the world to me," he said of a possible conference title. "We are so lucky in this conference to have such a big rivalry with Pomona-Pitzer, it makes the championship meet so competitive and so much fun. There's so much energy in this meet, and coming out on top senior year would just mean everything."

When not swimming, Crewe has a rigorous curriculum as a computer science and mathematics major at Harvey Mudd. He has held internships as a software engineer at both Intel and Microsoft while in college, including a position this summer at Intel working on engineering tools to create advancements in the field of artificial intelligence.

Before he heads off to become a part of the Silicon Valley community, he has a little time left with his current community within the CMS swimming and diving program, which has been a big part of his collegiate experience over the last four years.

"Being a Stag is wonderful," he said. "I get to be surrounded by a bunch of highly motivated and intelligent human beings who all support me and inspire me to reach my goals. I get lucky because I have my Stags and I have my Athenas too; we all practice together, so it's just one big happy family."
