Limm Breaks Pool Record, Stags Dominate Bulldogs

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags picked up another big swimming and diving dual victory on Saturday, defeating the Redlands Bulldogs 166-77. The Stags dominated the day by winning 10 of the 13 men's events. Henry Limm (HMC) headlined the CMS effort by breaking his own pool record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:05.88.

Kendall Hollimon (CMC) started the day by sweeping the diving competitions with scores of 290.45 in the one-meter and 363.20 in the three meter. Hollimon has now swept the diving competition in all three of the Stags' competitions this season.

In the first relay of the morning, CMS owned the top three times in the 400 Medley Relay. The team of Dave Makhervaks (HMC), Grant Murray (HMC), Marco Conati (HMC), and Andreas Roeseler (HMC) was the first to the wall in a time of 3:27.42, over a second ahead of the seond-place team.

The Stags took home the top four spots in the 1,000 Free with Ben Cullberson (CMC) leading the charge with a time of 10:02.34. In addition to winning the 1,000 Free, Cullberson also claimed the 500 Free with a time of 4:50.23.

As mentioned, Limm highlighted the day with a pool record in the 400 IM. Four Stags finished in the top four spots and his time of 4:05.88 was more than three seconds faster of the second-place finisher. Limm also won the 200 Breast in convincing fashion, out touching the second-place finisher by more than five seconds with a time of 2:06.79.

Roeseler took the 200 Free in a time of 1:45.07 edging Redlands' Aaron Bauer (1:45.47) by just .42 seconds. John Jeang (HMC) led three Stags for the top three spots in the 200 Back with a time of 1:57.44.

The Stags also claimed the fastest time in the 400 Free Relay with Conati, Makhervaks, Patricio Madero (CMC), and Roeseler combined for a time of 3:08.08. Their time was over five seconds ahead of a Redlands team that finished in second.

The Stags will not compete at home until the calendar turns to 2018, but CMS will head to Pomona-Pitzer on Dec. 1-2 to take on the Sagehens in their final match before winter break.
