Thirds by Williams and Stevick keep Stags in seventh after day three

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Matthew Williams and James Stevick finished third in their respective events on the third day of the NCAA Championships and the Stags remained in seventh place with 123 points.  Williams, a freshman, swam 48.09 in the 100 backstroke and finished behind two seniors who tied for first.  Stevick finished third in one meter diving with a score of 510.80 and earned his second All-American honor at the meet.

Two other Stags competed individually on Friday.  Marc Blumberg finished 20th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:50.72 and Zach Alleva finished 25th in the 100 breaststroke with a personal best of 57.25.  The CMS 800 relay team of Alex Poltash, Blumberg, Cameron Whiting and Conrad Shabb would have finished 14th with a time of 6:45.36, but were disqualified.

Events on Saturday, the fourth and final day of competition, include the 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 1650 freestyle and the 400 free relay.  CMS has competitors in four of the five events and Williams is the top seed in the 200 back.
