CMS Opens SCIAC Season With Victories Over Caltech

The CMS Stag and Athena swimming and diving teams traveled to Caltech on Friday, December 2 and tallied victories in both the men's and women's competitions.  The Stags won 154-60, while the Athenas won 154-63.

For the Stags, freshmen Patrick Shultz and Cameron Whiting led the way, with victories in the 200 free and 100 butterfly for Shultz and in the 50 free and 100 free for Whiting.  For the Athenas, Michele Kee and LillyBelle Deer were double winners.  Kee won the 200 IM and 100 backstroke, while Deer took the 50 and 100 freestyle races.  Athena Diver Lizzy Ginelli also won two events, taking first in the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions.

Other individual winners for the Athenas were: Emma Jones 200 freestyle, Nicole Lotte 500 freestyle, Mackenzie Marrs 100 breaststroke.  In the relays, the 200 medley quartet of Elsa Cheng, Marrs, Maddie Crawford and Sierra Gibson took first, as did the 200 free relay of Jones, Ellie Smith, Crawford and Olivia Graham.

Stag victories went to: Austin Hallett 200 IM, Chris Pei 100 backstroke, Alex Mendoza 500 freestyle, and Marc Blumberg 100 breaststroke.  Tim Storer, Hallett, Jeff McNerney and Anthony Corso won the 200 medley relay.  Pei, Joe Neuman, Devin Bowers and Jordan Lieberman won the 200 free relay.
