Bio

Alexander Walsh enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's soccer team in 2023. 

Walsh comes to CMS with several years of coaching experience in the Los Angeles area. He has spent the last year as a youth development coach with the LA Galaxy, where he would plan the daily curriculum for camps and clinics and lead sessions for a variety of age groups. 

Walsh has also spent the last half-year as a head coach with One Ivy FC in Los Angeles, where he created and implemented a new club structure and youth development programs. In addition, he helped market the club through short-form media to be posted on social media and created a budget template to be used across the club for team funding. Prior to joining One Ivy FC, he was a head coach and assistant coach for the Santa Monica Surf Soccer Club for three years, where he was a Southwest Regional Coach nominee. 

In addition to his club roles, Walsh has also served as a JV coach at the Crossroads School for the Arts for three years, where he helped his team to back-to-back championships in the Gold Coast League, including an undefeated season in 2021. He also spent two years as the camp coordinator for Pacific Soccer Academy, leading spring and summer camps, and

Walsh previously served as a head coach and assistant coach at the Bay School of San Francisco from 2019-20 before moving to the Los Angeles area.

A 2018 graduate from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Walsh has a degree in communications and digital media, and holds US Soccer C and D licenses.
