LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team dominated the second and final day of the first SCIAC regular season tournament on Sunday at the El Dorado Golf Course to win by 18 strokes, behind Vikram Chatterjee, who finished as the only player in the field under par at -4.

The Stags have now won the last five SCIAC events, including both regular season tournaments and the postseason tournament last year, as well as the first one of 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the season.

CMS shot a 290 on the day, which was 13 shots better than the second-best score of the day (La Verne's 303). Pomoan-Pitzer and Redlands each shot 304 as the Stag lead went from four strokes to 18.

All five Stags finished in the top 12, led by the individual medalist honors from Chatterjee (68-72-140), who finished with a four-shot win over John Kim of Pomona-Pitzer (even-par 144). Chatterjee dropped a stroke on the third hole, but didn't let it linger as he birdied the fifth to take the turn at even and then started the back nine with a birdie on 10 to drop to -5 for the tournament. He picked up a harmless bogey on the 17th to finish at even par for the round and secure the win.

Yuefeng (Michael) Ma shot a one-under 71 on Sunday, with four birdies on his round, the last coming at 17 to put him in the red for the day and move him up to a tie for third at +1 for the tournament (145), after he began the day in eighth.

Will Parker shot an even-par 72 to move up nine spots to a tie for fifth place with a two-day 147, shooting a steady round with two birdies and 14 pars. Kevin Jiang was one shot behind with a 148 to come in ninth, finishing at -1 over his last six holes with a birdie on 16 to go with five pars.

Aryan Kaila had a birdie on 18 to move up to 12th on the final leaderboard, after also shooting an eagle on the par-5 seventh.

CMS will be back in action for the Las Vegas Invitational on Feb. 20-21.
