CMS Men's Golf at No. 15 in first GolfStat Computer Rankings

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team ranks 15th in the first computer rankings released by GolfStat for the 2022-23 season.

The Stags also have three players ranked in the top 30 in the individual rankings, led by Riley Lai, who had an impressive fall campaign and currently places 18th.

Vikram Chatterjee, who had a strong showing with a second-place finish at the Ottawa Fall Invitational, rocketed up to No. 23 in the current rankings. Yuefeng (Michael) Ma, who won the SCIAC Championship a year ago, places close behind Chatterjee in 26th place, while Alex Yun places 50th.

CMS competed in two events in the fall, finishing fifth at the Redlands Bulldog Invitational and third at the Ottawa Fall Invitational. The Stags were essentially second at Ottawa, as the hosts, which are ranked No. 3 in NAIA, had the top two teams in the field.

The Stags will be back in action in the spring as they hope to have a repeat of last year's success, when they won the SCIAC Championship by over 30 strokes and finished in a tie for third at the NCAA Division III Championships.
